H2Global Foundation and SECI sign landmark MoU at European Hydrogen Week
On 19 November 2024, at European Hydrogen Week in Brussels, H2Global Foundation and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) formalised a groundbreaking partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This significant event was witnessed by key European and Indian stakeholders.
The signing was completed by Dr. Susana Moreira, Executive Director of H2Global Foundation, and Mr. Sharma, Director of SECI.
The MoU represents a shared vision to foster international trade corridors for renewable hydrogen and its derivatives, aligning with both India’s ambitious renewable energy targets and Europe’s transition to a clean energy future.
Dr. Susana Moreira, Executive Director of H2Global Foundation, stated:
"This MoU is a testament to the transformative potential of cross-border collaboration in building a global market for renewable hydrogen. Together, we are taking a decisive step towards a sustainable energy future."
Timo Bollerhey, CEO of Hintco, added:
"This agreement sets the stage for scaling up international trade in renewable hydrogen while fostering closer cooperation between India and Europe."
Markus Exenberger, Executive Director of H2Global Foundation, added:
"This MoU highlights the importance of forging strong partnerships to accelerate the energy transition. We look forward to the opportunities this collaboration will bring."
The collaboration will focus on enhancing knowledge exchange on market-based mechanisms and creating synergies to support renewable hydrogen supply and demand. This milestone builds on the innovative H2Global mechanism, which has been pivotal in facilitating international markets for renewable hydrogen and its derivatives.
H2Global Foundation and SECI’s joint efforts aim to accelerate the development of trade corridors, strengthen global partnerships, and position renewable hydrogen as a cornerstone of the energy transition.
